The rules says:
"Any kind of combat allowing Models to attack one anotherover the distance of a couple of Tiles is called RangedCombat and requires a successful Ranged Skill (RS) Test."
Really you cant shot at adjacent tiles (1 tile)?

I don't know if there is an official ruling on it or not, but my gaming group has always treated it as one or two tiles.
