Well the battle was nothing special. Mission 9. Were playing Aliens vs Marines. And didn´t really come far. Only 3 tiles far from the Marine´s starting poing (bridge) till all aliens swarmed the Marines and the battle broke loose without moving anymore. Putting up the whole board was a bit useless haha
I often think that 1 on 1 is often like this. The battle concentrates in one spot and isn´t moving much anymore. If there were 3 fractions I guess that all over the board would be more movement.
The problem is that the aliens need numbers and have to swarm the marines. And the marines need to better stay together because alone you don´t have a chance against several Xenos. Guess that´s a general "problem" of the game.
The APC was just for decoration later for the photos. Was always wondering how it´d fit in scale :)

Looks great! Love the APC, is it the Halcyon kit?

Yup. The Halcyon model. I think the size is kinda fitting and not that large :)

Wow, those minis look amazing!

What did you use for the bases?

Thanks:)
I wasn't aware about science fiction fitting bases like secret weapon exist. So I started making my own . That's some thin aluminium sheet. Cut bases round with a dremel

Honestly, I prefer your bases. I'm definitely going to grab everything I need and give them a try. Can't wait to see more painted stuff from you.

On a side note: A shame this forum here's not very active. Hopefully the 2.0 rules update will encourage more people to grab a copy and give the game a try - it's simply amazing now.

Thanks for sharing :-)

[Edit:] How's the queen ingame? Played a couple of games with/against her, already?

I agree on the forum. I guess because a lot of pissed off backers. The game is not bad. The franchise very popular. And the miniatures are amazing. Too bad here is kinda quiet. But the Facebook group is more active and a lot of pics :)

I had the impression the queen is very powerful. Can deal a lot of damage and attacks. But also a lot of wounds before she falls. The Powerloader seemed like her counterpart. But it is more weak.

Thanks, I'll definitely check out the facebook group.

Yeah, it's a shame, really. I can understand the backers, though.

Still haven't made up my mind if I should get a queen or not. The model is huge and looks very fragile...and she's probably going to be quite strong in the game, so I'm not sure how often I would use her. Gorgeous model and kinda a must buy, though. Especially when considering I enjoy playing the aliens most.

Again, thanks for the input. I'll stick around :-)
